Her years of work across Texas and Massachusetts include bridge and re-entry programs, at-risk student coordination, academic and testing support, and practical advocacy that continues beyond the classroom door.

Helen makes the Studio’s system human.
Helen has led bridge and re-entry work in Massachusetts and Texas for students navigating disrupted learning, academic risk, and difficult transitions. At Coronado High School in El Paso, she served as an at-risk coordinator, working across students, school administration, and district teams to coordinate support and testing delivery.
Her graduate education at New Mexico State University supports a practical leadership style: understand the student, organize the adults and systems around the need, make the work accessible, and keep the next step clear.
At Student Skills Studio, Helen leads inquiry review, instructional design, educator matching, and quality standards across academic skills, executive function, communication-aware learning, self-advocacy, life skills, and transition.
Families begin with Student Skills Studio. As the Studio grows, students may be matched with Helen or another qualified SSS educator based on needs, schedule, delivery format, and fit.
Care that reaches the real barrier

Helen’s record reflects a simple belief: a student cannot fully engage with school when transportation, food access, transition, or a disconnected support system is standing in the way.

Helen has helped develop Student Skills Studio’s method for delivering accessible curriculum and structured support to students at the greatest risk of disengagement. The method begins with the student’s actual barrier, uses a manageable starting point, and documents what was delivered and what should happen next.
Helen remains the introduction and standard-setter. Qualified SSS educators can deliver individual or carefully matched small-group support within the same expectations for preparation, service records, family communication, and quality review.
